• A usual shiatsu therapy is one hour
• Shiatsu is performed with patient lying on a mat which is on the floor
• There is no need for private rooms for the reason that shiatsu is done directly over the clothing
• Clothing that is loose, comfortable and not restraining is recommended for a treatment
